Jason Terry Signing: Terry On Celtics 'I Just Love That They Have A Championship Pedigree'

Free agent guard Jason Terry would not be able to sign with the Boston Celtics not able to sign until July 11. Until then the Mavericks have a chance to layout a counter offer to what the Celtics are offering (reportedly $15.7 million over three seasons).

Terry said about the Mavericks potential counter, "I want to see what they come up with, but I'm not optimistic." And why might Terry choose Boston instead? "I just love that they have a championship pedigree. And I think their point guard (Rajon Rondo) is the best in the business at controlling both ends of the floor. And they've got Hall of Famers.'' (via Fox Sports)

Terry averaged 15.1 points, 3.6 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game. Terry is a deep-threat who hit 2.2 three-pointers per game last season and shot 37.8% from behind the arc for Dallas. He's come off the bench the majority of the time the past five seasons but still averages more than 31 minutes per game.
