Second-year point guard E'Twaun Moore is currently in Las Vegas playing for the Boston Celtics in the NBA's summer league. The team has until Sunday to decide whether or not to guarantee his contract for the 2012-2013 season or he'll become an unrestricted free-agent.
According to Moore, neither he nor his agent haven't had any discussions with regard to his future with the team, but to his credit, he hasn't let any of this affect or distract him. He's just focused on competing hard in summer league and trying to get better, according to a report by the Boston Herald:
"We haven't talked about it at all, but they don't have to," Moore said. "I understand what's happening. I know they've got until Sunday. That's just a few days away, so I just want to keep playing and hope for the best and things will work out."
Celtics GM, Danny Ainge, offered high praise for Moore and his comments could lead one to believe that Moore will be back in Boston next season:
"I like how E'Twaun's playing," Ainge said. "I like how he's performed in the summer league. I like how he performed last year in short minutes. I like how he carries himself. He can shoot, he can handle (the ball), he can defend.
"He's just a complete, solid player and a top-notch kid."
