Celtics' Rajon Rondo: 'I Am The Best'

Confidence is an important quality for a professional athlete. It's safe to say that Rajon Rondo has confidence, but we already knew that. Rondo's confidence in himself was demonstrated in his recent interview with a French basketball website, calling himself the best point guard in the NBA.

"I did not choose that I wanted to be a leader or not," Rondo said, according to a translation on CelticsLife.com. "I must be one for my team. Every day, I get up telling myself I want to be better. I worked hard to get to this point and I continue to work hard."

Added Rondo: "I have matured a lot and my game has also. I think I am one of the best playmakers in the league. I think I'm the best point guard in the league." (via WEEI)

As a Celtics fan, you have to love that mindset. Rondo may have his incidents -- chucking a basketball at a referee, bumping a referee, (possibly) driving Ray Allen out of town -- but you can't deny his talent. Rondo took another step forward this past season, and you have to think he'll continue to move in that direction from now on.
