NBA Draft 2012: Boston Celtics Eyeing Austin Rivers On Draft Day

The Boston Celtics have reportedly been looking to move into the lottery at the 2012 NBA Draft. According to sources Thursday evening, Duke guard Austin Rivers, son of head coach Doc Rivers, is the target of the Celtics' potential move.

Austin Rivers has apparently become a hot commodity of late. He projects around the No. 10 spot in the draft. Tom Ziller tabbed him at No. 13 to the Phoenix Suns in his latest mock draft, but Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the New Orleans Hornets may be ready to snatch Rivers if he drops to No. 10.

A lot could happen in the coming hours and minutes. The Doc-Austin Rivers dynamic would certainly be a fascinating one to watch. Austin Rivers gave his thoughts at the 2012 NBA Draft Combine in Chicago:

"It's a father-son relationship, and then it also turns father-son and coach-player, so it would just be an interesting balance of how we'd have to balance that out," Rivers said. "I don't know if anybody has done that before seriously where it's been a serious thing. I just don't know how that would work."
