The Boston Celtics don't pick early thanks to another winning season, but they'll have their chances to get a future star in the 2012 NBA Draft. In the mock version, SB Nation has the Celtics taking Royce White and Moe Harkless with the 21st and 22nd picks overall.
Jeff Clark of CelticsBlog made both selections, and Boston fans should be thrilled with this haul if it presents itself on Thursday night.
White is a bit of an enigma with off-the-court concerns, but his talent is undeniable. At this point in the draft, it might be impossible to look past the risk/reward. The 6-foot-8 forward could be a nice compliment to the other pieces already in place on Doc Rivers' squad.
The second pick of the back-to-back selections is another man who only played one year in college. Harkless was a star at St. John's and would fit in nicely as a role player to start his career. Harkless has a big-man's size with a smaller man's shooting touch from the outside. He's not a three-point shooter, but he can definitely extend the defense.
