The Boston Celtics lead the Miami Heat 55-42 at halftime following a close first half that saw the Celtics build momentum towards the end of the second quarter. Boston has been playing aggressive, trying to set the pace and keep Miami from falling into a rhythm, and they were able to do just that, outscoring Miami 25-13 in the second quarter.
Paul Pierce leads the scoring for Boston with 15 points, followed by Kevin Garnett with 12. Keyon Dooling saw some time in the game after Ray Allen picked up two early fouls, he played 11 minutes and went 3-4 for seven points. The team is shooting 51.3% to Miami's 44.4%, and 73% on free throws versus 61.5% for the Heat. They have minimized turnovers, giving the ball away only three times while taking it six, and have managed one fewer foul than the Heat, 13-12.
Boston played a strong first half and were able to keep Miami from gaining any momentum. If they can keep that going through the second half they'll stand 2-1 in the series, a far cry from being down 3-0.
