Josh Smith Injury Update: Atlanta Hawks Star Out For Game 3, According To Report

Atlanta Hawks power forward Josh Smith will reportedly miss Friday night's Game 3 against the Boston Celtics because his sprained knee is "too sore."

Smith said he would be a game-time decision, but Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports that Smith's knee continues to bother him and that he won't be healthy enough to return to the lineup Friday night. According to Wojnarowski, Smith now hopes to return Sunday for Game 4.

The Hawks dropped Game 2 Tuesday night, 87-80, despite Rajon Rondo's suspension. Now, the series returns to Boston for the next two games with the Celtics hoping to put some distance between themselves and the Hawks.

If Smith does not go, the Hawks will likely either start both of their remaining natural big men (Ivan Johnson and Jason Collins) or turn to an unconventional starting lineup featuring Marvin Williams, who has yet to impact the series.
