Boston Celtics reserve Keyon Dooling will miss practice on Friday due to illness, Doc Rivers told reporters at the team's practice facility in Waltham on Friday.
Dooling has averaged 1.0 points in 9.3 minutes during the second round as Boston's primary backup for Rajon Rondo. Well-respected in the locker room, Dooling's biggest contribution to date in Boston's playoff run might have been a halftime speech he gave during Game 5. After trailing by three points at the time of Dooling's speech, the Celtics won by 16.
It's unclear whether Dooling will be available for Saturday's Game 7 against the Philadelphia 76ers. The Celtics are already dealing with a thin bench that was hurt by the loss of Avery Bradley, who will undergo shoulder surgery Friday and miss the remainder of the playoffs.
