Celtics Vs. Hawks: For Boston, It's Win Or Go (To Atlanta's) Home

You don't want to hear it, I don't want to hear it, but if the Boston Celtics lose to the Atlanta Hawks in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals, it may very well be the kiss of death to their pursuit of Banner 18. Wait, before disowning me forever, hear me out.

Jackie MacMullan put it best during her interview with WEEI on Thursday morning.

"I expect them to win the game tonight, but here's what gives me pause: This has the same feel to it, to me, as Game 7 of the Bruins-Capitals," MacMullan said. "Everybody's like, 'Yeah, they never should have gotten to this point, but it's OK, they're home, they're going to take care of it.' Well, it just doesn't magically happen."

Probably not what you want to hear, but it's reality. Also, the Bruins at least had the advantage of playing Game 7 at home. Sadly, the Celtics don't have the same advantage. There's no guarantee that the Celtics will win the series, unless of course they win on Thursday night. If they don't, it's Game 7 in Atlanta with the Hawks riding a two-game winning streak. Not exactly what you want, is it? At the very least, it's food for thought.
