Josh Smith Injury Update: Hawks Forward To Have MRI Wednesday

Atlanta Hawks forward Josh Smith will undergo an MRI on his sprained left knee Wednesday, Marcus Spears of Yahoo! Sports reports. Smith injured his knee after running into Kevin Garnett late in Game 2 against the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night.

Obviously we should have more details on Smith's long term prognosis tomorrow. Smith walked off the court into the locker room under his own power and without a noticeable limp, but did not return to the game. He finished with 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Smith's absence would be a huge blow to the Hawks as the Eastern Conference series heads to Boston for two games starting Friday. Smith has a double-double in three of his last four games, including a 22-18 performance in Game 1 on Sunday.
