Paul Pierce had a chance to give Boston a victory on the final possession, but his step-back jumper over the outstretched arms of Tim Duncan bounded off the rim as the Spurs hung on for their 87-86 triumph.
The Celtics meet eight playoff teams during the 11-game April stretch, and the three contests that aren't against playoff teams are back-to-back-to-back, all on the road against the Toronto Raptors, New Jersey Nets and Charlotte Bobcats.
The Bulls have lost two in a row for the first time this season as Derrick Rose sat out with a strained groin, but Rose could return against the Celtics.
