Al Horford Injury Update: Hawks' Big Man Now Rules Himself Out Of First Round

Al Horford is kind of like the Hokey Pokey. He's in, and then out again, and then back in. Though it's unclear whether he'll ultimately shake it all about, Horford now says he will miss the first round of the NBA playoffs when his Atlanta Hawks meet the Boston Celtics.

Horford, out since January with a torn pectoral muscle, said he will miss the first round of the playoffs but hopes to return in time for the second round if the Hawks advance that far, according to Michael Cunningham of the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Keep in mind, Horford's status is subject to change. He said Sunday that he was 70 percent sure he would return at some point in the postseason, reversed course on Monday morning to tell Yahoo Sports that he would miss the entire playoffs, then changed his tune again Monday afternoon and said he would play about 15 minutes per game in each of Atlanta's playoff games. Maybe he's just trying to keep the Celtics off guard. Maybe his status actually changes by the hour. Whatever the case, he's been a serious flip-flopper in the past few days.
