Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo Fined $20K Each For Missing All-Star Appearances

Boston Celtics forward Paul Pierce and guard Rajon Rondo have reportedly each been fined $20,000 for missing their scheduled charity appearances during the 2012 NBA All-Star Weekend in Orlando, Florida on the weekend of Feb. 26, per a USA Today report. Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant was also fined $40,000 for missing the event.

The NBA fined the Los Angeles Lakers guard $40,000 for missing a news conference and a mandated charity appearance for NBA Cares during All-Star weekend in Orlando. In addition, the NBA fined Boston Celtics forward Paul Pierce and guard Rajon Rondo $20,000 each for missing their charity appearances. (via USA Today)

Rondo participated in the Taco Bell Skills Competition and appeared in his third All-Star Game while Pierce was making his 10th career All-Star appearance, which led all players on this year's Eastern Conference Roster. Rondo had two points and eight assists in 15 minutes while Pierce had three points and two turnovers in 11 minutes in the All-Star Game.
