Jeff Green Heart Update: Forward Cleared For Activity

Jeff Green tweeted on Tuesday that he has been cleared to jog, two months after undergoing heart surgery to repair an aortic aneurysm.

Green signed a one-year, $9 million deal to return to the Boston Celtics this season, but a heart condition was discovered during his routine physical examination. Though Green was fortunate to catch the condition before it worsened, his contract was voided once doctors determined he would miss the entire season.

The 25-year old forward has said he would like to return to the Celtics next season, and has spent some time with the team despite not technically being on the roster. Just last week, Green watched a game from the bench. Doc Rivers admitted it might be consider tampering to have a free agent on the bench during a game, but felt it was more important that Green have the opportunity to be around his former teammates while he recovers.
