NBA Trade Rumors: Rajon Rondo 'Not Being Traded,' Says Danny Ainge

NBA trade rumors follow Rajon Rondo like a shadow, but Boston Celtics general manager Danny Ainge tried Friday night to finally put the rumors to rest.

Ainge, always active on his cell phone during trade season, told CSNNE.com Rondo is not going anywhere.

"Rondo's not being traded," Danny Ainge, Boston's president of basketball operations, told CSNNE.com prior to the Celtics facing the Los Angeles Clippers. "I don't know how many times I have to say it. Rondo's not being traded."

Since 2009, Rondo has been rumored to be swapped for everything short of a 2011 Toyota Corolla. The Los Angeles Times reported Monday that the Celtics and Lakers discussed a Pau Gasol-Rajon Rondo deal just last week.

But Ainge denied the Gasol rumor while Rondo a nod of support for remaining professional throughout all the rumored moves.

"Rondo, from the beginning of this year, has shown a lot of maturity in dealing with all this, back to the Chris Paul rumors and stuff," Ainge said. "Rondo and I have had open dialogue and conversation. He knows where he stands with our organization and how important he is."
