Paul Pierce Named Eastern Conference Player Of The Week

Boston Celtics forward Paul Pierce was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week Monday after averaging 22.0 points, 6.3 assists and 5.8 rebounds per game to lead his team's 4-0 week, the league announced.

Pierce struggled at the beginning of the year due to a heel injury that allowed him to participate in just one preseason practice, but has worked himself back into shape quickly as his conditioning gets better.

  • Tuesday vs. Cleveland Cavaliers: 20 points, six assists, four rebounds, 8-12 shooting
  • Wednesday vs. Toronto Raptors: 17 points, eight assists, six rebounds, 4-6 3-pt shooting
  • Friday vs. New York Knicks: 30 points, seven rebounds, five assists, 4-10 3-pt shooting, 10-12 free throws
  • Sunday vs. Memphis Grizzlies: 21 points, six rebounds, six assists

San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker was named Western Conference Player of the Week.
