Kevin Garnett and the Boston Celtics kept the winning going, as KG amassed 24 points and nine rebounds in 33 minutes to lead the C's to a big 98-80 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Super Bowl Sunday at TD Garden in Boston, MA.
Garnett made 9-of-12 field goals and Boston shot 49.3 percent in the win. Paul Pierce added 21 points and six rebounds and Ray Allen scored 12. Rajon Rondo, playing in his second game back, had five points but racked up 14 assists.
Chris Wilcox scored 12 and rookie JaJuan Johnson added 10 points of the bench for Boston.
Rudy Gay finished with a team-best 21 points, but Memphis was held to 36.8 shooting. O.J. Mayo added 15 points off the bench, Dante Cunningham and Sam Young scored 10 points apiece and ex-Celtics guard Tony Allen did not play.
Boston returns to the court on Tuesday evening when it hosts the Charlotte Bobcats.
