Rasheed Wallace Reportedly To Sign With Lakers, Celtics Weren't Interested

Former Boston Celtics forward Rasheed Wallace's retirement might soon be at an end as there are reports that Wallace will sign with the Los Angeles Lakers (via CSNNE). Wallace has been out of the game since the end of the 2010 season. Boston bought out Wallace's remaining contract (estimated to be worth $1 million) at that time.

The Lakers do have a roster spot available for Wallace. Were the Celtics interested in their former forward? Apparently, there was no interest in a return to Boston by either the team or Wallace.

A source cited by CSNNE said about Wallace

"His days as a starter in this league are gone," said the source. "I think he knows that, and so do the Lakers. But think about it. Of the big men that are available, is there one that's really better? And if he's gotten himself in shape, adding him becomes a huge get for them."

If this signing does indeed go through, there won't be any slow down in the Pau Gasol trade rumors.
