Ray Allen Injury Update: Shooting Guard Misses Orlando Trip

Ray Allen, who is nursing a jammed ankle, will not fly to Orlando with his team when the Boston Celtics visit the Orlando Magic. (via ESPN)

Besides the injury, which was suffered against the Washington Wizards on Sunday, Allen's wife Shannon is in an advanced stage of pregnancy and the couple expects another child soon.

Every other Celtic made the trip to Orlando, a good sign for a team that has resemble an injury ward in the past few days. The Celtics are hopeful that Rajon Rondo (right wrist) and Keyon Dooling (right knee) will make their returns to the court in Orlando. Mickael Pietrus, who was a surprise scratch Monday with a shoulder ailment, also hopes to return Thursday and Chris Wilcox (left calf) is working his way closer to a return.

Without Allen on Monday, the Celtics submitted their best effort of the season, throttling the Magic 87-56.
