Celtics Vs. Magic: Glen Davis Returns As Boston Hosts Orlando

Big Baby is back. Coming off their win over the Wizards on Sunday, the Boston Celtics (6-9) welcome back Glen "Big Baby" Davis and the Orlando Magic (11-4) at 7:30 p.m. EDT on Monday night at TD Garden (TV/Radio: CSNNE/WEEI).

One week after Kendrick Perkins returned to TD Garden, the Celtics faithful will welcome back another fan favorite and key to the team's success. Glen Davis, now a member of the Orlando Magic, will return to face his former team as the Boston Celtics host the Magic at 7:30 p.m. EDT on Monday night (TV/Radio: CSNNE/WEEI).

Davis was traded to the Magic in exchange for Brandon Bass, who has assumed Big Baby's role as the Celtics' sixth man. Bass stormed out of the gate with the C's, but has since cooled off. Bass is averaging 11.4 points and 6.2 rebounds to lead the team's bench production. Meanwhile, Davis is averaging 7.9 points and 5.1 rebounds this season.

Mickael Pietrus will also have a vested interest in this game, as the current Celtics swingman was traded from the Magic to the Phoenix Suns last season. Pietrus is averaging 7.8 points and 1.2 rebounds in six games with Boston this year.

Boston is coming off a 100-94 win over the Washington Wizards on Sunday. Paul Pierce paced the green team, scoring a game-high 24 points and finishing with 10 assists, eight rebounds and three steals for Boston, which shot 51.4 percent. Kevin Garnett had 17 points and five boards as the Celtics were without Rajon Rondo (sore right wrist) and Ray Allen, who jammed his left ankle during the second quarter and is a game-time decision for the Celtics against Orlando.

Orlando put forth a strong showing in its last game, a 92-80 win over the Los Angeles Lakers. Dwight Howard, perhaps a Laker-in-the-making, was phenomenal with 21 points and 23 rebounds and Jameer Nelson added 17 points and nine assists. Davis, who came off the bench, had five points and eight rebounds in 20 minutes for the Magic.

Boston and Orlando will meet three total times this season and twice at TD Garden.
