Celtics Vs. Mavericks: Delonte West Booed In Pregame Introductions

BOSTON – Delonte West was met with a smattering or cheers and boos when he was introduced during Wednesday night’s game between his current team, the Dallas Mavericks, and his former team, the Boston Celtics.

West, starting in place of Jason Kidd, played with the Celtics last season and began his career with Boston. West was drafted with the No. 24 overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft by the C’s and played with the team through the 2006-07 season.

West was traded to the Seattle Sonics (now the Oklahoma City Thunder) in the deal that brought Ray Allen to town, but he was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers that season. West played in Cleveland from 2007 through 2009 before rejoining the Celtics.

In 398 career games, West has averaged 9.7 points, 3.6 assists and 1.1 steals. Last season, West averaged 5.6 points and 2.7 dimes with Boston. This year, West is averaging 7.8 points and 3.8 assists.
