Rajon Rondo: Perkins Trade 'Shouldn't Have Affected Us The Way It Affected Us'

Kendrick Perkins didn't cost the Boston Celtics a chance at a title, but he certainly dampened the spirits of her ex-teammates, especially Rajon Rondo, whose play slipped after the trade that sent Perkins to Oklahoma City. Rondo and Perkins had always been close, and when Perk was shipped away, Rondo and the C's struggled to move on.

"It wasn't like the man passed away or something," Rondo told Yahoo! Sports reporter Marc J. Spears. "I think we put too much emphasis on it. It's a business. He got traded. He's very happy where he's at. We still talk, and I'm always going to have his back. It shouldn't have affected us the way it affected us." (via WEEI)
