Celtics Have No Plans To Move 2012 Pick

The Boston Celtics have a top-ten draft pick. They also have an interest in rapidly-rising center Nikola Vucevic. Other teams that might help them get to him have an awful lot of interest in the pick.

But according to WEEI.com, Celtics president Danny Ainge has no intention to deal that pick, which isn't in this year's draft, but rather in next year's draft.

The pick is appealing to other teams not only because of its proximity to the top of the draft, which likely will feature a stronger draft class than this year's pool, but also because of the uncertainty surrounding the NBA's labor situation heading into the 2011-12 season, which may make it difficult for teams to sign or retain draftees from this year's draft.

Boston picks 25th and 55th in this year's draft, and has a protected top-ten pick in 2012 from their trade of Kendrick Perkins to the Oklahoma City Thunder in February.

The 2011 NBA Draft takes place in New York City on Thursday night, beginning at 7 PM and will be televised on ESPN.
