Both the Boston Celtics and New Jersey Nets have denied rumors that they had promised Boston College's Reggie Jackson with their first-round picks if the junior guard was still available when they are on the clock.
Chad Ford, who broke the news, wrote that all sides denied the supposed promise.
"Not true according to both the teams and a source close to Jackson," wrote Ford. (via Nets Daily)
This isn't the first time the Nets have reportedly made such a promise, either. In 2003, the Nets guaranteed Zoran Planicic would be their selection with the No. 22 overall pick. Planicic played just three seasons in the NBA, totaling 561 points and 198 rebounds.
