Ray Allen scored 25 points and Paul Pierce added 21 points as the Boston Celtics edged the Utah Jazz, 107-102, at EnergySolutions Arena on Monday night.
Leading 79-75 entering the fourth quarter, Boston (43-15) outscored Utah (32-29), 28-27. There were eight lead changes in the final quarter.
Kevin Garnett finished with 18 points and 14 rebounds for the Celtics. Rajon Rondo had 16 points and 11 assists and Nenad Krstic chipped in with 11 points and five rebounds for Boston.
Boston made 39-of-82 shots (47.6%) and 7-of-15 three-pointers (46.7%). The Celtics finished with 42 rebounds (6 offensive), 22 assists, nine steals, three blocks and 12 turnovers.
Al Jefferson had a game-high 28 points and 19 rebounds for Utah. Devin Harris totaled 19 points and five assists, Andrei Kirilenko had 18 points and four rebounds and Paul Millsap added 17 points for the Jazz.
Utah connected on 35-of-78 shots (44.9%) and 1-of-7 threes (14.3%) while amassing 41 rebounds, 16 assists, five steals, three blocks and 13 turnovers.
Boston returns home to face the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night while Utah hosts the Denver Nuggets on Thursday evening.
