Delonte West has re-injured his wrist in practice on Tuesday, just one day before he was slated to return from the initial injury that has cost him more than two months of his season.
Doc Rivers addressed the issue after practice (Chris Forsberg of ESPN Boston brings us the video below), saying that Delonte was “hit on the hand,” and will likely now receive an X-ray to determine if this qualifies as a setback in recovery. West didn’t finish the team’s practice after being hit.
If West receives the all-clear, it’s still possible he’ll play in Wednesday’s game against the Nets. But with All-Star Weekend so close at hand, don’t be surprised if the Celtics choose to err on the side of caution.
