Celtics Sign Rookie E'Twaun Moore To Guaranteed Contract

According to ESPN Boston's Chris Forsberg, the Boston Celtics have signed their second round selection in the 2011 NBA Draft E'Twaun Moore to a guaranteed contract. The news comes on the day that the team begins their first day of training camp before the league year opens up on Christmas Day.

The big significance behind the news from the Celtics standpoint is that they seem to have considerable faith in Moore, the shooting guard out of Purdue University. Normally, second round choices are not guaranteed contracts once drafted. Moore's agent Mark Bartelstein told the Journal and Courier of the news.

"We're still working out the details, but yes, the contract will be guaranteed," Bartelstein said Friday afternoon. "E'Twaun is very excited. He is raring to go." (via Journal and Courier)

Moore came out of Purdue as the University's third leading scoring of all time. During his senior season, the guard averaged 18.0 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. Moore also played in Italy during the NBA Lockout.
