After seeing the terms of Glen Davis' new contract with the Orlando Magic, it's easy to see why the Boston Celtics were willing to deal him.
After being dealt in exchange for Magic power forward Brandon Bass earlier Friday, Davis will earn $26 million over the next four seasons, reports Yahoo's Marc Spears. Bass is on the hook for just $4 million this year, and his contract includes a $4 million player option for the 2012-13 season.
The two are similar players, both undersized power forwards with a propensity for shooting mid-range jump shots. Davis is considered more of a threat in the low post and also a better defender, but Bass has proven himself a considerably better shooter and significantly more efficient offensive player.
Bass averaged career highs last season in both points (11.2) and rebounds (5.6).
