WALTHAM - We have out first Boston Celtics' trade of the season, as Danny Ainge has reportedly shipped off Glen Davis in a sign-and-trade transaction with the Orlando Magic in exchange for forward Brandon Bass, Yahoo! Sports reports.
As of 1 p.m. EDT, there still isn't much going on here at Healthpoint, the Celtics training facility, with the first practice scheduled to start at 5 p.m. EDT. However, with this news, we now know not to look for Big Baby.
Davis and Bass are very similar players, and the two have been friends for years (wonder if this trade will hurt that relationship). Davis and Bass have almost mirror image statistics - Davis averages 7.6 points and 4.1 rebounds and Bass averages 7.7 points and 4.1 rebounds. It will be very interesting to see how each player pans out in their new habitats.
