Mickael Pietrus Injury: Celtics' Swingman May Miss Two More Weeks

Mickael Pietrus' debut with the Boston Celtics has been pushed back again, with Gary Washburn of The Boston Globe reporting on Friday that Celtics' GM Danny Ainge said that Pietrus will miss at least two more weeks and may join the team in mid January.

Pietrus signed with the Celtics on Christmas Eve after clearing waivers. Prior to playing with the Celtics, Pietrus had played with the Golden State Warriors, Orlando Magic and Phoenix Suns. Last Thursday, Pietrus was waived by the Suns.

In eight seasons, Pietrus has averaged 8.5 points and 3.1 rebounds while shooting 43.1 percent. Last season, Pietrus was traded from the Magic to the Suns and averaged 7.2 points and 2.2 boards. Pietrus' best season came in the 2006-07 campaign with the Warriors, when he averaged a career-high 11.1 points and 4.5 rebounds in 72 games.
