Troy Murphy Signs With L.A. Lakers

Tory Murphy, who played for the Boston Celtics last season, has signed a veteran minimum deal to play with the Los Angeles Lakers, according to a team announcement. 

The Los Angeles Lakers have signed free agent forward/center Troy Murphy, it was announced today. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not released. (via Lakers.com)

Murphy's deal is reportedly worth $1,352,181 over one year, according to an ESPN report. The value of the deal was predetermined by the NBA, which set that figure as the veteran minimun for players with 10 or more years of experience.

In 17 games with the Celtics last season, Murphy scored 44 points and totaled 38 rebounds and averaged 2.6 points and 2.2 rebounds. Murphy signed with the Celtics on March 2, 2011 after being bought out by the Golden State Warriors. In 656 career games, Murphy has averaged 11.6 points and 8.3 rebounds.
