BOSTON - Jeff Green's mystery ailment has been the talk of the town ever since the fifth-year forward for the Boston Celtics failed the stress test portion of his physical and has been held out of practice. The C's held an open scrimmage on Friday night at TD Garden, and head coach Doc Rivers addressed Green's condition after the game concluded.
"Nothing," said Rivers when asked what he could tell the media about Green. "I will know for sure [Saturday]. I keep saying that, but I will. Danny [Ainge] called and said he'll announce it tomorrow, so we'll wait. Other than that, we just leave it at that."
Green signed a one-year deal worth $9 million with the Celtics towards the start of training camp, but hasn't been able to practice since due to his failed physical. Green has been at team shootarounds and has appeared healthy, but there's more than meets the eye. In 26 games with the Celtics last season, Green averaged 9.8 points and 3.3 rebounds.
