Jeff Green Signs One Year Deal With Celtics

According to Chris Broussard of ESPN Jeff Green has signed a one year contract with the Boston Celtics worth 9 million dollars.

Jeff Green signed 1-year deal worth $9 million with Celtics, source said. He did not sign the mere qualifying offer.

It had been previously reported that Green had signed the one year qualifying offer, worth 5.8 million, rather than nine. I'm not sure what changed, but Jeff Green just got paid, even if it's only for a year.

Green was acquired by the Celtics in a somewhat controversial trade deadline deal last season, which sent Kendrick Perkins to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for Green. Green went on to play 26 regular season games with the Celtics – starting two – and appeared in nine playoff games. In 26 regular season games with the Celtics Green averaged just under 10 points per game in about 24 minutes of action. In the playoffs he averaged 7.3.
