Celtics Trade Rumors 2011: Danny Ainge, C's 'Love' Rajon Rondo

Danny Ainge spoke to reporters for the first time since the unofficial end of the NBA Lockout on Thursday morning, and one of the main talking points was naturally the trade rumors surrounding Boston Celtics' point guard Rajon Rondo.

Rondo has been rumored to be involved in several potential trades, specifically a deal that Ainge had reportedly been working hard to make swapping him with New Orleans Hornets point guard Chris Paul. But on Thursday morning, Ainge let it be known that, despite the rumors, he and the team love Rondo and think he'll be just fine.

"I'll talk to Rondo. Rondo will be fine," team president Danny Ainge said. "Rondo knows that we love him. He's excited to come back and play basketball. He gets a lot of attention. He's a great player. There's a lot of people that call me and ask me about Rondo. How these rumors get out is unfortunate but we didn't leak those rumors out and we'll deal with it. He'll be fine." (via WEEI)

Ainge said he does not plan on trading Rondo or any of his three superstars in Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett or Ray Allen, but at the same time, they aren't off limits, either.
