Rajon Rondo won't be playing for the Boston Celtics at TD Garden anytime soon, but he and a few of his current and former teammates will suit up and play in a charity game called the Boston Charity Classic at 6:00 p.m. EDT on Saturday afternoon at Lavietas Pavilion at Harvard University.
Rondo will be joined by current teammates Paul Pierce, Glen Davis, JaJuan Johnson and former teammates Kendrick Perkins, Leon Powe and Marquis Daniels. Harvard's own Jeremy Lin, now a member of the Golden State Warriors, will play in the game, which is highlighted by Kevin Durant. Rudy Gay and Kyle Lowry will also play.
The game will raise money for local Boston charities in order to provide food to the needy during the holiday season. Tickets for the game went on sale Tuesday, with general admission seats costing $50 and courtside seats costing $100.
