Imagine having to pay $15,000 for one piece of gum. Sounds crazy, doesn't it? Celtics forward Paul Pierce doesn't have to imagine that scenario, because that's how much he will have to pay after tossing his gum into the stands during Tuesday's 95-83 victory over Indiana.
↵According to ESPN.com, Pierce was fined $15,000 by the NBA for the incident, which occurred with 8:02 left in the first quarter at Conseco Fieldhouse.
↵This is the second time that a Celtics' player has been fined in the last seven days, as center Shaquille O'Neal was fined for his comments regarding the officiating following Boston's 86-78 loss to the Orlando Magic on Christmas Day.
