For those of you hoping to see Celtics captain Paul Pierce score his 20,000th career point on Wednesday night against the Bucks, you may be out of luck.
Pierce has 11 points with 7 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter with Boston trailing Milwaukee 69-66.
In order for Pierce to reach the 20,000 point plateau, he would need to score 23 points in tonight's game.
While it is improbable that Pierce reaches 23 points tonight, it is possible. To do so, Pierce would need to score a little under two points per minute.
When Pierce does reach 20,000 career points, he will be the 36th player to do so in NBA history.
