LeBron James On New Commercial: 'I Wasn't In A Joking Mood'

If you watched the Heat-Celtics game Tuesday night, or any television, really, you likely saw the new LeBron James commercial from Nike. It's called "Rise," and it features Don Johnson.

While some thought parts of the ad were meant to be a joke (see: line to Charles Barkley, eating a donut, Don Johnson, etc.), James insisted before Tuesday night's opener in Boston that it was all entirely serious

"It's just how I was feeling at the time. It's how I'm still feeling at some points in my life and I just wanted to get it out."

"None of them was jokes. I wasn't in a joking mood. None of them was jokes."

"I think what I look back on is, should I be who you want me to be? Or should I just be me? That's where I've got to this point. I respect everyone who's had an opinion, but at the same time you've got to do what's best for yourself. I think everyone has to do that."
