Claude Julien Extension: Bruins, Julien Agree To Multi-Year Extension

The Boston Bruins and head coach Claude Julien have reached an agreement on a multi-year extension on Monday (via NHL). Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Julien has been behind the bench for the Bruins for five seasons and helped the Boston win the Stanley Cup for the first time in 39 years in 2011. Julien's record with Boston is 228-132-50 in the regular season and 36-27 in the playoffs. Julien has won 347 regular season games and is six games above .500 all-time (40-34) in the playoffs during his coaching career which began in 2002-2003 with the Montreal Canadiens.

Last year, the Bruins advanced to the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the fifth consecutive season under Julien. They were defeated by the Washington Capitals in the first round.
