One point away from clinching a Playoff berth, the Boston Bruins are tied with the New York Islanders are after two periods of play in Saturday's matinee at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in New York. Both teams have scored one goal per period, with the third coming up.
After neither team committed a penalty in the first period, things got back to normal in the second, with the Bruins racking up nine penalty minutes on three violations, including a major for fighting. Gregory Campbell and Micheal Haley got into it early in the second period, earning five minutes a piece. The Islanders were 0-2 on power plays in the period.
For the Bruins, David Krejci scored his 22nd goal of the season, while Chris Kelly netted his 20th. P.A. Parenteau and Kyle Okposo are responsible for the two Islanders' goals.
