Bruins Vs. Capitals Score Update: B's Take Shot Lead, Still 0-0 After Forty Minutes

Through two periods of play the Bruins still sit scoreless with the Capitals heading into the third period.

Milan Lucic returned to the ice after tending to his leg from a Zdeno Chara shot earlier in the first period, but Adam McQuaid did not return and will not be coming back for the remainder of the game. McQuaid has had a history of head injuries and concussions.

Meanwhile, both teams did make the second period a bit more exciting, adding significant shot totals to the books. Tim Thomas has only had to make nine saves through two periods, while Michal Neuvirth stopped all eight he faced.

This is only the third game this season that the Bruins have gone into the third period scoreless with their opponent, and they are 0-2-0 when they do so. However, they also have outscored their opponents 98-60 in the third period alone.

Brian Rolston is currently on a seven-game point streak and has been quiet so far this game, though his line has had some opportunities down in the Capitals zone.
