Tuukka Rask (Groin) — The B’s back-up ‘tender is slated to be out of commission until mid-April with a lower abdomen/groin strain.

Last Time We Met: Sharks 4 , Bruins 2

– Despite overcoming a 2-0 hole in the final period, the B’s were defeated by the Sharks back in October by a 4-2 score at the TD Garden. Essex, MA native Benn Ferriero would account for the game winning goal at the mid-way point of the third when he pushed home a rebound for his first tally of the season.

Prediction: The Sharks are a team with a tremendous amount of talent, up and down the lineup. In fact, you could make a case for them having the greatest "on-paper" roster in the Western Conference. However, talent doesn’t always translate into winning. As of late, it seems that the Sharks have been playing with an almost nonchalant attitude, something that should be the farthest thing from the mind of a team engaged in a heated battle for a playoff spot. If you’ve seen any recent San Jose games, you’d know exactly what I’m talking about. Look for the B’s to come out with a relatively easy win to kick off their three-game Western road swing.
