Boston Bruins defenseman Andrew Ference could be out of action with an injury.
Ference sustained the injury during the Bruins' 4-3 win in overtime over the New Jersey Devils on Thursday. The veteran left the ice in the third period after only three shifts.
Bruins coach Claude Julien referred to the injury as a "lower-body injury"
"He suffered a lower-body injury," Julien said of Ference. "We took him out instead of forcing it, and I guess what I've been told is we'll know better tomorrow how severe it is and whether he's going to be fine or whether it's going to go the other way." (via WEEI)
Ference was replaced in the third period by Joe Corvo, who had struggled earlier in the game.
Ference has five goals, 16 assists and 37 penalty minutes for Boston this season.
