Boston Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid will not play the remainder of Sunday afternoon’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins after getting hurt near the half point of the first period.
McQuaid hit Pittsburgh winger James Neal in the corner of the ice and came up in obvious upper-body pain. The Bruins PR department announced that McQuaid would not return during the first intermission.
The injury comes in the game that the Bruins had finally gotten fellow defenseman Andrew Ference back after being day-to-day for over a week.
