Bruins Vs. Capitals: Boston Up 2-0 After One

Both Boston and Washington played Saturday afternoon. From the looks of things in the first period, the Caps must have tried an awful lot harder yesterday, because Boston dominated play in the first period, and goals by Milan Lucic and Brad Marchand have the Bruins up 2-0 after 20 minutes of play.

Adam McQuaid and Matt Hendricks dropped the gloves in the waning minutes of the period, but Hendricks got booked for an extra two minutes for instigating, and Boston will be left with 46 seconds of power play time heading into the second period.

Tim Thomas got the start for the second straight game, and he's been strong in net, including making one great save on an Alexander Semin breakaway in the last few minutes of the period.

Alexander Ovechkin leads Washington with three shots on goal, while Tyler Seguin has 4 SOG and Jordan Caron has three for the Bruins.
