Brian Rolston, Mike Mottau Traded To Boston Bruins From Islanders

As the clock ticked down, the Bruins made some last minute moves, including acquiring Brian Rolston and Mike Mottau for minor league prospects.

Just minutes before the end of the trade deadline, TSN reported the Bruins acquired Islanders forwards Brian Rolston and Mike Mottau for minor league prospects.

After a rather quiet afternoon from Beantown, Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli made two quick moves, just minutes before the 3 p.m. trade deadline struck.

Brian Rolston, the 39-year old from Flint, MI had just cleared waivers and could act as a older veteran player for the Bruins. Rolston has just nine points this season (4-5=9).

Meanwhile, the Bruins also picked up Mike Mottau from the New York Islanders. Mottau, who was born in Quincy, MA will now return back to his home state. He has just two assists this season and recently came back from a concussion that sidelined him for 26 games. He has not played in a game since December 29.

Both Islanders will be in town for the Bruins game against Ottawa tomorrow at T.D. Garden.
