Roberto Luongo Unlikely To Start In Stanley Cup Rematch Against Boston Bruins

The Boston Bruins and Vancouver Canucks meet Saturday in a rematch of the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals at the TD Garden. But the Bruins are unlikely to see goalie Roberto Luongo, who they terrorized in Boston during the Cup.

NESN reports that Cory Schneider is expected to get the start between the pipes for the Canucks, taking the place of Luongo, who was unimaginably bad on the TD Garden ice last June. During the three Stanley Cup games in Boston, Luongo was 0-3 with an 8.05 goals-against average and a .773 save percentage. It would have been difficult for Tim Thomas to pump Luongo's tires after those stats.

Schneider is also familiar with the TD Garden ice, but his memories of the stadium are more pleasant after playing for Boston College. He has a 2.15 goals-against average and a .931 save percentage so far this season.
