2012 NHL All-Star Game, Final Score: Zdeno Chara Scores, Team Chara Outlasts Team Alfredsson, 12-9

Team Chara defeated Team Alfredsson 12-9 at the 2012 NHL All-Star Game at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa on Sunday.

The Boston Bruins were represented in the game by Tim Thomas, Tyler Seguin and Team Chara captain, Zdeno Chara.

Team Chara started strong and built a 3-0 lead before giving up three goals to end the period tied at 3. Marian Gaborik scored twice for Team Chara in the first period. Team Alfredsson got goals from three different players.

Gaborik got a hat trick when he scored at the beginning of the second period. Team Chara led 5-3 before they let in three consecutive goals for the second straight period. Patrick Kane scored for Team Chara to level the game at 6 at the end of the second period.

The teams traded goals in the third period to make it 8-8. Then Team Chara started to pull away. Chara scored himself during a quick succession of three goals for his team. His was the 10th goal of the game for Team Chara. Tyler Seguin assisted on Joffrey Lupul's second goal to make it 12-9 in favor of Team Chara.

Tim Thomas played the third period for Team Chara and allowed three goals but also made 18 saves, more saves than any other goalie in the game. Marian Gaborik of the New York Rangers was named the MVP. He assisted on Chara's goal.
