The 2012 NHL Skills Competition is set to begin Saturday at 7 p.m., one day after NHL All-Star captains Zdeno Chara and Daniel Alfredsson selected players to compete in the six skills events.

Tyler Seguin will represent the Boston Bruins in the accuracy shooting contest, during which players take aim at four targets attached to the corners of the goal posts and attempt to hit all four targets as quickly as possible.
Chara will defend his title in the hardest shot contest. The bruising Bruins defenseman holds the record in the competition with a 105.9 mile per hour shot, and has won the event in four consecutive years.
