Event: Boston Bruins at Washington Capitals

Broadcast Info: Tuesday's game between the Bruins and the Capitals will be broadcast live on NESN. The game can also be heard on 98.5 The Sports Hub, with Dave Goucher providing play-by-play, and Bob Beers providing analysis.
Last Time Out: The Bruins took an exciting win from the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday, earning two points off a 6-5 shootout victory. Flyers forward Scott Hartnell picked up a natural hat trick, but the Bruins had enough in them to come back and net two goals in the third period.
Nathan Horton didn’t finish that game and left at the end of the second period and didn’t return. He remains day-to-day with a head injury, though nothing was called on the ice at the time he was hit.
The Bruins scored three times in the first period, with goals from Patrice Bergeron, Tyler Seguin and Milan Lucic. The goals in the third period came from David Krejci and Gregory Campbell. And of course, the winning shootout goal from Seguin.
The Capitals took a 4-3 OT loss to the Penguins on Sunday. The Penguins came out in the first period, scoring two goals to give Pittsburgh a quick 2-0 lead. Kris Letang and James Neal had the honor of scoring those two goals.
However, Washington came back in the second and did the same thing, tying the game at two a piece before the end of forty minutes with Brooks Laich and Alexander Semin each adding a goal to their season totals.
Alex Ovechkin scored in the third, but so did Neal for his second of the night. Evgeni Malkin finished the night in overtime.
Storyline: This is the first meeting between these two teams, and both will have to go without some key players in the game.
For the Bruins, they will be without at least Andrew Ference for this game, as he will be out for his second game of a three game suspension. They will also be out a top forward, with Nathan Horton not expected to play tonight due to a mild concussion he suffered on Sunday.
However, the Capitals also will have their fair share of absentees. Alex Ovechkin is currently serving a three-game suspension dealt to him on Monday, and forward Nicklas Backstrom continues to be out with a concussion.
Players To Watch:
It will be interesting to see how the entire Bruins team comes out to play tonight. After yesterday’s White House visit, and Tim Thomas’ choice to not participate, there has been speculation that it will effect the team as a whole. While the players have commented saying that it won’t affect them as a whole, it will show on the ice tonight.
Prediction: Heading into the All Star Break I think the Bruins will find an extra spark in their stride. Final Score: Bruins 4, Capitals 2.
